Are you free? That’s what you’re taught in school, right? That just because you live in America or Canada or wherever, you’re fundamentally free. Well, I’m here to inform you that freedom isn’t something that is taught in a classroom. If you believe that, then you have already accepted your prison term.

Freedom is about your life, liberty, and property being free from outside influence. There is no nation on Earth in which freedom is triumphant, yet almost all nations on Earth preach freedom in their doctrine. To be free, you must understand how a free society would operate and how individual liberty must be maintained.

The following are properties of a truly free society:

No militarism

In a free society, militarism is counter-productive. Militarism only suppresses another’s freedom. Imposing your will on someone jeopardizes their liberty, which is one of the characteristics of freedom.

Ability to protect one's liberty

For freedom to work, a person needs to be able to defend their liberty. A strong national defense and well-armed citizens protect each citizen from all enemies, foreign and domestic. In a truly free society, every able citizen would be entitled to gun ownership.

Individual rights prevalent

A government’s responsibility is to provide defense, a court system, sound monetary system, and roadways. People would be free to do absolutely anything they wanted, so long as it doesn’t disrupt another’s life, liberty, or property. This is probably the most important aspect of a free society.

Minimal Taxation

Taxation would be minimal or non-existent. Revenue would be generated through user fees, and any taxation would be apportioned. Taxation takes property from someone; so in essence, taxation of any kind goes against the principle of freedom.

Don’t let them trick you! You aren’t free. Just because you live in a country that is freer than another does not make you free. Now fight for your freedom, and don’t stop fighting until you are free! Day by day, they strip us of more of our rights. Together we can take back our nation and show people how beautiful being free really is. As Patrick Henry once said, “Give me liberty, or give me death!”
